Great Yarmouth’s very own Neuza Vika has been victorious in the Norfolk round of the Miss Universe competition, and will now go on to compete in the national Miss Universe Great Britain pageant.
Twenty young women from across the region entered the contest, held at Dunston Hall Hotel, near Norwich. The other winners were: Georgia King, Miss Charity and Miss Popularity, the public vote. Hannah Rose Bell, the Not in Vain Award. Yeliz Tacel, Miss Photogenic and Rebecca Richardson, Miss Congeniality.
This year’s contest placed a focus on empowerment, and marks an effort to modernise the idea of Miss Universe, though there was still a swimwear round.
Judges included comedian Ava Vidal, Miss Universe Great Britain 2011 Chloe Beth Morgan, Miss Universe Great Britain 2012 Holly Hale and British Heavyweight boxer Sam Sexton.
The Miss Universe Great Britain Final will be held in Birmingham in June. The winner will go on to compete in the global Miss Universe competition, judged by Donald Trump.
