Great Yarmouth is one of the Norfolk’s coasts best assets.
It has long been one of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations, for its sheer variety of things to that are on offer.
And now the Norfolk coast has even more of an attraction as Norwich City, the counties biggest football team, have secured their promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
Last night over 3000 Norwich fans, many from Great Yarmouth, travelled down to fellow coastal town Portsmouth to see the canaries get a 1-0 victory to secure their place in the top flight.
Pubs all over Norfolk, including Great Yarmouth were packed with supporters, even before kick off. Many watched Canaries promotion rival Cardiff suffer a 3-0 defeat at home to Middlesbrough, giving Norwich the opportunity to seal the Premier League deal, with a win.
And seal it they did, with a brilliant diving header from forward Simeon Jackson in the 50th minute of time.
Norwich take their place in the Premier League for the first time in 6 years after being relegated to League One in 2009.
After weekends of glorious sunshine, Norfolk’s Premier League team is great news, and is sure to bring people to Norfolk’s coasts.
