Give your dog some exercise in and around the beach

Dogs need exercise. However this doesn’t need to be a chore- in Great Yarmouth there are a few places that can help make walkies a fun time for both you and your dog!

One of the most obvious places is the beach- Known as the Golden Mile this is an easy way to gauge the distance you are walking your dog. You can also walk to nearby areas of interest such as Gorleston or Scratby, giving you a wide range of sites to explore. However it is important to check before you start- while there are no restrictions on the Great Yarmouth North and South beaches the central area between Britannia and Wellington Pier is restricted in the summer.

A particularly good example of this is St Olaves Priory in nearby Haddiscoe. So long as you keep your dog on a lead you can walk them around the area all year round. The Priory itself is a 14th century refectory, a rare example of a surviving Augustine priory. With its fine timber roof and wall paintings it is well worth taking the time to take in what is has to offer.

In short if you know where to go walking your dog around Great Yarmouth really can be great!
