Great Yarmouth tends to be associated with arcades, theme parks and the pier. But there are also places where you can go and have fun without spending for the privilege!
Great Yarmouth has a number of public parks to enjoy. One of the most well known is St George’s Park, chiefly because it is the location of the local war memorial. With plenty of park benches and plant life it is ideal for a good walk or just sitting and watching the world go by. With excellent playground facilities you can also make sure your kids have fun at the same time.
Away from St Georges Park Southtown Common is also popular- this is because it offers a playing field, a hard court and an all weather surface as well as plenty of green space to wander around and take in the nature around you.
There are also some great facilities in the surrounding villages- For example Fleggburgh Recreation Ground also has a playground but also has a large playing field area and a hard court area. For older children Cobholm Skate Park and Kickabout Area is ideal if they want to go somewhere to play about or hang around.
If you want to get some exercise but can’t afford the gym then Mill Lane Recreation Ground in Bradwell there is an outdoor gym as well as the pitches and outdoor playing areas that the other parks offer.
In short Great Yarmouth and its surrounding areas offer a wide range of places you can go to enjoy the great outdoors!
