It may sound strange but Great Yarmouth is a great place to visit over Christmas. Have a read below to find out more about some unusual events in Great Yarmouth

Steam Trains to Santa at Bure Valley Railway- Up until 24th December
Kids and grown up kids alike can enjoy a real life version of the Polar Express as they head on a steam train to visit Santa! Every child gets their own personalised present and there will be music and entertainment throughout the Christmas period for everyone to enjoy!
The 1940s Christmas Bazaar at the Elizabethan House Museum- Saturday 6th December
For people who fancy a Christmas of an earlier vintage the 1940’s Christmas Bazaar is the event for you! It is the chance to enjoy music, activities and food from a simpler era that is well worth the trip back in time!
Festive concert at St George’s Theatre- 9th-11th December
There is something special about listening to a choir at Christmas time. This year at St George’s Theatre there are choirs offering both traditional and popular music under the supervision of celebrated musical director Matthew Hardy.
Christmas Ghost Evening at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden- 9th-10th December
When most people think of ghosts at Christmas time they usually tend to think of A Christmas Carol (not that there’s anything wrong with that). However if you are tired of seeing the 812th variant of that particular story (Smurf’s Christmas Carol anyone?) then perhaps you may want to go to Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden to explore a side of Christmas that people have forgotten- the Christmas ghost story!
If you are a brave soul this is your chance to scare yourself witless and enjoy a very different Christmas experience (plus it may be a good alternative for the “bah-humbuggers” among your friends and family).
This is just a small taste of the wide range of events coming to Great Yarmouth this Christmas. Keep an eye on our site for more information about these and more fantastic events to make this Christmas truly great!
